BACKGROUND
Masa Shinomiya is a senior mechanical engineer at Yamaha Motor Ventures, where he is responsible for providing engineering support for portfolio companies.
Previously, he worked as a body design engineer for a scooter in Yamaha Motor.
Prior to that, he worked as a CAE engineer. He supported structural design, such as for commercial motorcycles, race bikes, surface mounter, and various research projects.
Masa graduated from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology with a master of Mechanical system engineering.
In his leisure time he enjoys riding motorcycles and skiing.

Kei Onishi is the CEO and Managing Director of Yamaha Motor Ventures. He previously led Yamaha Motor Group's global digital transformation efforts, focusing on digital marketing and data analytics.
Kei has also worked on Yamaha's corporate venture capital activities in areas such as AI, Robotics, and Connectivity, along with developing IoT business as a spin-off company from Yamaha Motor.
Earlier in his career, he worked as a manufacturing engineer in Southeast Asia. He has earned MS in engineering from Nagoya University, and MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In particular, my work within Yamaha Motor Ventures/CVC offers an exciting opportunity to delve into the world of corporate venture capital and innovation. This role allows me to not only explore new possibilities within the organization, but also to engage with external partners and companies to drive positive change and growth. I am thrilled to be a part of a team that is dedicated to discovering and supporting cutting-edge technologies and businesses that will shape the future of Yamaha and the industry as a whole.

What do you love to do outside of work?
Outside of work, Kei is a golfer and loves hiking. In his downtime, Kei is an avid reader and particularly enjoys books on technology and innovation. He is also passionate about international travel and discovering new cultures and cuisines.

I'm a big fan of motorcycles. I would love to get XSR700.
